I Have The Right To Self-Care (Part 2)
It’s not about finding more time; It’s about making time
Hello my lovely readers!
Today I want to focus on topic that resonates with so many of us working women - self-care (Part 2).
First, Discover What Comforts You Most
Self-care looks different for everyone, and it’s essential to figure out what truly brings you comfort. For some, it might be physical self-care like applying a homemade face mask, practicing yoga, going for a walk, or squeezing in a quick workout. For others, it might be more about emotional self-care—catching up with a friend over coffee, curling up with a good book, indulging in your favourite TV series, or treating yourself to a relaxing massage. The key is to identify what rejuvenates you personally.
Second, Incorporate Self-Care Into Your Schedule
We often tell ourselves, “I just don’t have MeTime,” but with 24 hours in a day, that sounds a bit unrealistic, right? The truth is, when we make self-care a priority, we can find ways to incorporate it into our routine. The secret is planning. Here, I m going to give a few tips which I practice usually. This will help organise your day and make MeTime, even with a hectic schedule.
- Divide Tasks Across Days: Spread out your tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed. For example, reserve the weekend for cooking and cleaning. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from your partner or children. Sometimes, I cook two dishes and freeze one for busier days—it saves a lot of time and stress during the week.
- Plan and Prioritise Tasks a Day in Advance: Each evening, make a list of tasks for the next day, prioritising the most important ones. Once you’ve tackled these, you’ll feel more mentally free and less stressed. The key is not to overwhelm yourself with too many tasks.
- Create Small Rituals: Establish simple, consistent self-care routines. For instance, I always prefer exercise on Fridays and Sundays. If I have extra time, I squeeze in a 20-minute session before or after work. Before showers, I apply a homemade mask or an eye mask when I’m in bed. At night, I take a few deep breaths to relax before sleeping. Even during work, I take two 5-minute breaks to stretch and grab a coffee, keeping my energy up.
So, my fellow warriors, don’t wait for the perfect moment—start today by carving out those precious moments for yourself. You deserve it!
In the next post, we’ll explore a topic that often gets overlooked but is just as important: self-grooming. From skincare routines to haircare, and little habits that make you feel fresh and confident.
So, stay tuned, lovely readers! Let’s look into the power of self-grooming and how it can uplift your mood and mindset.
